Hi
I have had it working on all versions pretty much, so it makes it difficult to pinpoint when someone can't get it to work.
Ultimately the app will always be updated/optimised for the latest version of iOS etc so it is probably best to update eventually imho
I am about to update an iPad2 to 6.0.1 even though I have had it running fine on 6 with with both 10.6.8 and 10.8.2
** Ok updated to 6.0.1 iPad2 Lemur 3.2.2 works with OSX 10.6.8 running Lemur Daemon 3.2.3 via adhoc WEP, and via Router

I am presuming you have tried all the obvious things of firewall, etc etc, others apps that might being using the same OSC ports etc
Have you tried setting up your network with static IP addresss?? On both computer and iPad?
Looking back at the thread I just want to clarify what your problem is - Are you trying to select the iPAD or Daemon in the MIDI Port setup?

Send me a detailed problem description and computer / network setup and we will work this out

MM

Marcciza something is defiantly weird now. Ive had major problems too and have tested tried numerous things but now have a way for things too work. I have a home pc and laptop And have diffrent results with how I have to hook up. One I have to use lemur and hook to home network none adhoc to connect using damoen then can switch to ad hoc and works. On my laptop it works as it supposed to except I have to connect ipad 2 firs then ipad 1 and they work. The other thing in would suggest is that to make sure you do things as administrator for people on windows. Lemur is awesome I just wish I knew what's causing is problem. I even went and bought a new USB network card to trouble shoot I bought a better one fist and that was a mistake it didn't let me make a adhoc network. I went returned and bought another newer card that let me make a adhoc network but still same problem. This is just my experiences in last week or two. Now that I have figured out how too connect for me time I'm not spending time figure out what's wrong but would like too know what's going on.

Anthony

Ps I'm glad to have lemur and am learning to program the possibilities of the program are awesome unmatched by anything else right now. Also thanks to Antonio and jay for inspiration and just the logic of three templates great thing to check and look at there coding also the origization in there patches.

Same symptoms here with ios 5.1 Lemur 3.2.1. The common factor is OSX 10.6.8. Prior to my recent upgrade from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8, can't connect my ipad to Lemur daemon. then updated Lemur to 3.2.3 - which doesn't appear in teh changelog ?!? Same thing.

Hi Stephmo

Have you tried setting up the targets from the actual daemon? I recall that worked on some earlier versions for people who could not access it from the iPad
This then 'fixed' the problem for setting it from the app.

I would try rolling back through Daemon versions to see if one worked better. Has anything else changed on your system? Software installs etc??
Where exactly is the problem for you ? Not seeing Computer? Not seeing Ports? Not connecting when selected?
I will try to have a look at the 10.6.8 setup a bit later and see how I go . .

Cheers

Hi Macciza,

here is my problem explained again as requested from you:

After setting up a adhoc or static connection between my Ipad and my macbook (Versions of software used are in the post above) I would need to setup two midi connections (for bidirectional communication):

- one from my ipad (lemur client app / sender) sending to my macbook (deamon server programm / receiver)
- one from my macbook (deamon server / sender) sending to my ipad (lemur client app / receiver)

For both connections I have the same problem: there is no ipad lemur client midi port to be selectable - it simply doesn´t show up neither in the setup screen on my ipad nor in when I click on the add button within the deamon application (macbook). => as long as there is no selectable ipad lemur midi port no connection can be established!

By the way: before the update I had no problems with the connections and they showed up. I updated from IOS 4 & Lemur 3.0.1

Hope that helps.

Regards

Joe

After writing many posts to the same topic: Lline what version of Lemur works fine with what version of the IOS operating system??????

Simple question up to now no answer!!!!!

I would assume that you tell us for all Ipad Versions (1,2,3,..) what version combination works.

In my case I am unable to use your software at all.

After over 10 postings you are not responding.

What are you doing right now?

When can we expect to get an updated version to fix the wifi connections issue that a lot of people have that upgraded to the IOs 5 (Ipad 1) or IOs 6 (Ipad 2 and following)?????

Please respond to your customers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi

It can be difficult to remotely diagnose problems when my setup is functioning, and I don't know your complete system setup.
One long trouble shooting session ended up be probably due to the fact they were running a Hackintosh system on a cheap PC.
In some cases there may be system extensions , background apps etc causing a problem that I don't know about.

As I said earlier I have had it running on pretty much all systems from 10.5 to 10.8 and various versions of Lemur etc.

Things to try when it does not work:
Delete Lemur prefs from your ~/Library/Preferences folder - you may need to re-setup Editor paths etc
Restart apps, - or maybe even re-start computer in dire cases . . .
If it crashes then please find the crash report and send it to support@liine.net - it may have crucial info for fault diagnosis.
If it is the 'Port 8001' not accessable - make sure firewall is disabled or allowing traffic on that port, and no other OSC apps running

There are many people who have not experienced any of these difficulties and who's sytsem runs fine
There are many many variables that will contribute to any system that is not working properly

If you have reproducible problems - then please send a full report, with system details and any crash reports to support@liine.net
Whilst Liine staff do frequent this Forum it is not meant to be the primary support avenue.

Oh, and what am I doing right now? answering support questions, and code queries, keeping spam of the site, beta testing software and projects etc etc
I just wish I could get a bit more time to make music and pursue some of my own Lemur experiments . . .

Cheers
