After Upgrade (IOS 5.1.1 & Lem. 3.2.2)=>Ipad Midi Port Disap

Post by lemoon01 »

Hi Liine,

after Upgrading (see Subject) within the Lemur IPad application (setup page), I cant select my IPAD as a midi target any more. Only the Name of my Ipad is displayed but without a selectable Input / Output.

I have a wifi connection working between the Ipad & my macbook as I am able to transfer Lemur Templates from my macbook to my ipad.

Can you please tell me if this is a bug of how to proceed?

I have a huge live set and I am fully depending on Lemur....

Hope to get some Help

it happens to me too, i contact with support sometime ago, and they didn,t find a solution yet.
I use daemon app to put the midi ports by hand. It,s a shame but at least in this way i can use my lemur.

Please Lemur Support, as more people have the same issue tell us how to handle this:

What shall I do now:?

- is it a problem with the latest lemur release 3.2.2. => if yes I would downgrade to older lemur version
- is it a problem with the IOS 5.1.1 => if yes I would downgrade my ipod to to Version 4
- what is Llines recommended IOS & Lemur Version for Ipad 2 that works well ????
Please comment

@ bite: can you please elaborate how you use lemur in combination with the deamon without having an Ipad port available...

Thanks Joe

Hi
Apple changed some of there network implementation in their update . .

Please try setting up the MIDI Targets from within the Lemur Daemon app on your computer.
This has been found to work and should restore access from the iPad.

It helps to provide full details whenever possible including type of computer, OS, network setup etc. . .
ok just saw Macbook in original post ~ what OS??

Cheers

Here are the versions I am usind:

Macbook Pro: OS 10.6.8
IPad 2: IOS 5.1.1
Lemur 3.2.2

If I setup connection only in the lemur daemon (prior I deleted all connections on the Ipad as well as deamon) I indeed can select a port from the Ipad. Unfortunately, after setting it up on the deamon, the Ipad has still an "UNASSIGNED" label in the midi Targets for the Ipad port. The connection for me is not working.

Please provide me another tip how to process or which version combination is working (IPAD IOS Version xxx; Lemur Version yyyy).

Best regards

I too am having problems and hope this is resolved with either lemur update or new iOS 6.1 problem is I also have issue with my ipad ones. This is my work around that is working after a lot of trial error unistalling reinstalling network card even try new network card with new adhoc network. What I have done is I connect iPads to my home wifi network and connect dameon to midi connections that I want it hooked up to the I change wifi network on ipad and connect to adhoc network connection re connect and work as there supposed too. I've got a couple of tools I'm working on for ableton live control for studio and home and need multiple lemurs working trouble free. Can't wait to share templates or parts.

Dear Lline,

I and a lot of other users have asked a simple question that has not been ansewerd:

Which version combination of Lemur APP & IOS on IPAD 2 work well together!

As you have not ansered at all to this question I assume that currently there is no working combination of IOS & Lemur currently available!
I know that no software is bugfree. But as I and a lot of users are unable to use the software after upgrading to a higher IOS Version, as customer, we want to know:

What shall we do now?

There are the following options:

1. you tell us the right version combination for ipod 2 or,
2. you will provide us an insight when a fix for this major problem will be delivery => I just want to remind you: a lot of users can not use your product any more and have put considerable amount of time into customizing lemur to their needs

3. we will not hear any answer to this questions so we need to look for another product where curstomer support has a higher priority!

Please provide the community with a answer to the current problems that your software has.

Regards

Joe
