Abreakpoint 2...

Could someone walk me through how to set up the external sync template with cubase 5. I have the original running fine. I use loopmidi A as my to target on my lemur and loopmidi b as my from target. I have Dameron running connected to those same ports. The original version works fine but when I try the external template, no midi signal is coming into cubase. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks

Hi Nexusoft,
- Open the EXTCLOCK template.
- Enable cubase to send MIDI CLOCK to Daemon 0.
- Pressing play in your DAW should to run the vector.
Please have in mind, this is not a sequencer, it only uses the incoming midi clock ticks to quatize note triggering,
Cheers,
AB

Hi Antonio,
First off, thanks so much for your templates. I've been having so much fun with them!
I really want to try to get a handle on abreakpoint 2 and I've played with it for hours now (I was up till 3am yesterday!). Still though, I'm having problems really "guiding" the notes (yes, I do understand that it's generative) and I still can't figure out what the colour change on the note selection means (grey, light red, red..). Truthfully, sometimes I have NO idea what happened. For example, sometimes I end up with notes that are all F and C even though my scale is F#, and I can't figure out how to modify it, othertimes, notes just stop. I've searched high and low and can't find a manual or a video that describes the note area. The other parts are OK for the most part.
I'd love to incorporate it into a live pa, but right now I can't control it enough..
Anything to help?
Thanks again!

Hey Guys,
Many thanks the cumpliments, great to know you like it.
@Biologik,
I will try to explain it a bit,
Notepitch is generated from 3 controls plus pitch correction page.
Pitch Range Object (at the left side of the vector) : it sets the min/max range for note pitch array, using a range for instance from C1 to C4, all notes will fall within of that range.
By using Multisliders "Note and Offset" you get more variation of notes as you move these controls from the central position. Finally the pitch window lets you to correct the notes generated in the range of -1 .. +1 (octave).
The color tells you a little note range have been assigned (high or low). The high notes are represented with red, low notes are shown in blue. The colors also are connected to the pitch range, pitch multislider also change its color to indicate the pitch of each node.
leds turns grey = Note has crossed the trigger zone (horizontal range object under the vector) but it's has been not played (it's off from notes pads)
Leds light ON = note has been activated.
Set the note manually for each individual node is not the goal for this template, there are many nodes (32) and that would take some time to tune. However if you're using reaktor, here an ensemble based around of this template but with other features if you're interested, I've planned to create a template for it too:

hope that helps and doesn't sound even more confusing.
Cheers,
by the way, sorry my english.
edit: here a video of a friend of mine (Zavosh) using it totally of the same way I do, maybe it shows some hints.

Thanks a lot for the breakdown. It really helped - as did the video you posted (and it was really cool too!).
Also, don't worry about your English - it's more than passable and I complete understand what you're saying.
I've been having so much fun with your templates and I'm really looking forward to more things you're cooking up! I'll be integrating this into my live PA and once I'm familiar with it enough I'll record it.
Thanks again Antonio!

ok so im pretty new to all this stuff, was wondering how you can set breakpoint up to control absynth, like in richard devines demo...
http://vimeo.com/6432705
how do you set it up to modulate the controls of absynth and not just send it note information??
thanks.

Hi,
Yes, that video was the abreakpoint prototype, to modulate absynth "macro controls" we use the "CONTOL" section, here a screenshot:
http://www.antonioblanca.com/screenshots#/i/11
The breakpoint is only used to trig notes, it doesn't modulate any absynth control.
Absynth 4/5 versions both are using Macro Controls for every sound, and the lemur multiball object (control tab), is mapped by default to control 8 of these macro controls.
Cheers,
