apologies if I'm stupid!

Post by gosh »

Hey guys!

Trying to get the lemur working..the registration process if broken on the liine website so I can't download any templates to try/experiment with but I thought I'd have a go at getting it to work without and just creating some simple templates etc.

However, I'm stuck! I'm connecting via wifi. I'm on PC. I downloaded loopmidi and have set up two ports (Lemur 1 and Lemur 2). I have the lemur daemon running and the editor and I can sync the ipad and the editor. Ie. move a fader on the ipad and it updates on the pc (and vice versa when I hit the sync button)...so i known that the ipad is connecting. However, i can't get it to output any midi to ableton or reaktor?

I have the Lemur 1 and Lemur 2 ports activated with 'remote' on in ableton but nothing, not a sausage!? I'm seeing no midi indicator lights and when I hit midi map in ableton and move an ipad fader nothing happens.

i must be missing a step somewhere but I can't figure it out! I'd be really grateful for any help! I'm normally fairly adept at midi but all this wireless stuff has me right confused!

Cheers
Geoff

Hi Gosh,

Thanks for the post.

Once you are in the editor you have to assign the objects to the corresponding MIDI controller. Let's say a fader for example would go as such.

Ok - having a strange one. I got it working shortly after posting the message and before receiving your reply Marino (thanks for the help though). I already had assigned objects to midi. I can't remember what I did though to get it working and now it isn't again.
It works fine connecting with the editor but ableton / other software just isn't recognizing the lemur.
Is there a correct order things should be turned on?
Ie. start lemur daemon first, then ableton, then editor etc?

Ableton and the mu template works fine!
