midi resolution on encoders that require precision

I patched up a template for DCAM Synth Squad - Strobe
and I wrote up a script to reset all the encoders/faders back to initialized settings but when I do so instead of sending encoders to the exact values it sends them to the next closest value which sometimes leaves the encoders on the plugin being at the +1 instead of the 0 setting... for example my PitchLFO knob... default at 0.500 aka 0 on the plugin, but if I hit my Reset it brings it up to 0.504 and causes it to be +1 (the actual knob on the plugin ranges from -72 all the way up to +72
What's the best workaround for this? I'm still learning so it's possible I'm just completely overlooking something.
