Need Tutorial for Lemur Editor

I've never done well with reading user guides as I've learned mostly from YouTube videos. Times certainly have changed.
I have the Lemur app for my iPad and would like to learn how to:
Create buttons to trigger clips
Create a crossfader
Control track faders
Control filters
On Ableton Live
I'm lost in the whole assigning through channels and what not. The most work I've ever done with Midi is just clicking on what I want in Ableton and then moving the knob/fader/switch on my midi hardware.
Creating the visual side on the editor is easy, anybody who's dragged clip art to a word doc can do it. But I get lost when I want this pad to control my clip.
Please help, as I'm excited to use this thing, and my head hurts. Excuse my nubness.
