Lemur 5.8 Available

MIDI Kinetics is happy to announce that Lemur 5.8 is available now.

Lemur 5.8 is the largest quality-of-life update in Lemur’s history. It improves the parts of Lemur people work with every day, especially the Editor, while resolving longstanding usability and stability issues.

To accomplish this, Lemur 5.8 introduces several major Editor improvements, including a zoomable canvas, an entirely new code editor, and a dedicated Error Panel. It also includes extensive work on layout, text rendering, and display support, together with substantial improvements to performance, stability, and device connectivity under the hood. The result is a Lemur Editor that provides a more consistent and reliable experience in everyday use.

Beyond the Editor, Lemur 5.8 expands the scripting language with the new invoke family of functions. Scripts can now be called by name on objects referenced at runtime, completing Lemur’s support for dynamic object access and enabling patterns such as dynamic dispatch, callbacks, configurable behaviors, state machines, and command queues.
