Pad with XY messages?

Is there an object like the pad, which can send XY messages and Z-message? Would be like mixing a Pad and a Ball object, but without the ball actually showing up ...

Just looked through the manual of the original Lemur and found that the gesture object would do exactly, what I am looking for. Why wasn't that included? Is it gonna be in a future update?

HI FriFio,
For the time being I can only tell you that we will keep developing and updating Lemur so any suggestion is welcome. I will take note and make sure I pass it along.
Cheers,
M.

Hi Marino,
that is great to hear! Since you seem to be very responsive to user suggestions, I would like to add this:
i hate the limitations of midi-Instruments. There have been some really great advances in that topic. One being hardware, the Haken Continuum Fingerboard (unfortunately quite unaffordable):

The other one being Ipad Software by Rob Fielding:

The last one is in free beta right now and very close to what I want.
I see great potential in Lemur to make it possible to create a multi Pad controller sending XY Messages (e.g. Pitch and Expression). If you could make this multitouch, I would have the ultimate polyphonic instrument. I have figured out ways in MaxMSP to route polyphonic playing to desired midi channels in a useful way. This would be like a rebirth of polyphonic aftertouch with the addition of free pitch control without limitations of western chromatic temperament.
Please, make me happy!

Make the balls ephemeral with zero decay and release time. You won't even notice that they're there because they'll disappear when you lift your fingers.

I'm interested in the same thing. Something like the Kaossilator / iKaossilator, only multitouch.
If nothing like that exists yet, is it something that I could code, or would Liine have to do some work to support that?

... the gesture object can be used. It's just not available to select in the Lemur editor. But it's available in the Jazz editor. Create a template with gesture ojbect in the jazz editor and then switch to the lemur editor. It works.
Variables are angle, pan, pinch (hmmm), x and y. Attribures are acceleration, axis, boundaries, color, constrainted, name, rect and transparent.
E.g. take a look at the ABreakpoint2 template in the user library.
My 2 cents of the day.
B.
PS.: Please beware this is undocumented functionality and may very well be removed in a future update.
PSS.: What about the Built-In Accelerometer Variable?

OK, I've got a Gesture object. I've mapped x to 90 - Note On with pitch set to 0-127 but it doesn't seem to trigger any notes. What else do I need to do?
Is there a sample project I can download with a Gesture object configured properly?

I found ABreakpoint2, which includes a Gesture object. I matched the settings for that object in my project, but it doesn't do anything.
I created another project using masterkeyboard.jzlib and copied my Gesture object to it. The keyboard part works fine on my iPad, but the Gesture object doesn't trigger any MIDI events. I tried copying the Gesture (Amp) object from ABreakpoint2, that doesn't trigger any MIDI events either.

Hi
Often it is not as simple as just cutting one little bit out - there may be scripting, variables and other objects that are needed.
There are however modules that can be put in your that do work as that sort of pre-made system. Not sure if there is one for you.
Whatever your solution is I think it may require some level of scripting to obtain the best results and flexibility.
Maybe check out the TrafficControl project in the user Library -
