5.3 statement from liine (for those not on Facebook)

just copying this from Facebook as liine has not posted it here on their forum.

**IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT**

Hello everyone.

As a temporary measure we’ve removed Lemur iOS from the App Store. This means users who haven’t already updated to 5.3 won’t be able to and new customers won’t be able to buy the app for a short time. The reason for this is that 5.3 is causing a critical event (crash on start), which wasn’t detected on our in-house devices or those of beta testers. We only became aware of this upon releasing the update, and it’s clear now that this isn’t a few special cases, but a widespread problem which warrants pulling temporarily from sale.

Unfortunately, Apple does not provide us with the means to offer you the previous working version to download - of course we would if we could. We have to wait for the fix to be reviewed by the App Store team in the usual way, and this could take a week or so. This is, sadly, a limitation we have no choice but to work with.

Many of you will have a backup in iTunes - please follow these instructions to revert: https://www.facebook.com/LemurApp/posts ... 5444195340

For new customers and existing users with no backup who are experiencing crashes, we apologise sincerely and with the utmost humility. We will submit a fix today and hope for a quick review process.

We are committed to providing a powerful tool you can rely on and I hope that most of you will vouch for our track record and can forgive us this particular episode. Your continued support and loyalty is hugely appreciated.

Humble apologies,
Gareth Williams
Liine co-founder and MD

PS: Naturally, we will resume the Black November price promotion once we’re back online and new users will get the opportunity to pick up Lemur at a great price.

apology accepted, but why did Liine forget about their former beta testers? It's not the first time they neglected this potential.

These problems could easily be avoided with proper beta testing. Many experienced users have been in this beta program. It was cancelled without any notice. Again we see problems with a release version.

I don't have a problem with Lemur because I keep my main Lemur iPad at iOS 7. And another one on iOS 9.1 where I didn't update Lemur. From experience I know that updates can destroy your workflow. Lucky me to have three iPads; others may have to take a break until the fix is released.

It is Liine's problem. And the problem of many users with 'outdated' devices after installing 5.3. I and many other former beta testers would surely spend some time to fix bugs before a new release version. Why is there no message or invitation?

I don't have a Facebook account. These things should be posted in the Lemur forum! The Lemur forum is a message board dedicated exclusively for Lemur. Why post stuff on Facebook?

I simply don't understand what the developers are thinking and doing. Such a great app, so much potential.

glad my copy of their Facebook post was worthwhile , although they should have posted it themselves.

I'm stuck with 5.3 on my iPad2

looks like lemur will be the last to be sorted with the latest revision of my live performance setup (uplifting trance and live elements)
