Hi
I've made a midi note monitor.
1 monitor deals with octave (-2 to 8)
the other monitor deals with notes(C-B)
now i've found a way to assign text to a monitor, which works fine for other duties. This involves a knob(controlled via osc) feeding the monitor.I'd like to have the monitor display text, without a knob, just getting an external osc in direct, like i can with numbers.is this possible and if so how?
i've included the file

Hi
Most basic way is simply to send the message to its OSC address . .
ie /Monitor/value Hello sent to Lemur with a stock Monitor and it should show 'Hello' ...
Also check out the string concatenation features available in Lemur . .
You could use one Monitor object to show multiple data . . .

Thanks for the reply
I've been trying the /Monitor/value Hello sent to Lemur with a stock Monitor and it should show 'Hello' ...
when i type that into reaktor(the send address pattern of a osc send module) it puts an underscore between value and hello. and nothing happens.

Hi
Sorry but that a Reaktor issue, not sure if it can even deal with text data . . .
That part of an OSC Send or any of Reaktor OSC stuff is just the address part, not the data you want to send . .
You would need to be sending Hello to the OSC Send input but I think Reaktor only talks numbers
If you know what text you want to send you could make a list in Lemur and then send a number to select the one you want, otherwise you could maybe convert it to aasci and decode it in Lemur...
Cheers

Hi
Ahh well,I'll try another route. At the moment i don't like having an active knob(albeit invisible).
you mentioned a list,i've kind of done that using a knob to link numbers to text to be displayed.if there is a way to do that directly(no knob) that would be better(no invisible knob, still active)
thanks again for you help.
