iPad (and Lemur) as a Ribbon Controller

Hello:
I'm considering getting an iPad. I'm wondering how well it can work as a virtual "ribbon controller" for pitch bends? For example could you use Lemur to set up three ribbon strips:
- one for upward pitch bends
- a second for downward pitch bends
- a third for relative pitch bends (i.e. from the point of contact)
Also, if one can do relative pitch bends, would the iPad surface work well for doing a manual vibrato (by wiggling one's finger back and forth)?
Thanks.
Chris
