Connecting with Live OSX

Hi All,
With LiveControl not working, I decided it was time to try to make my own surface, since my needs are simple, my fingers are big, and I already have Push. I just need some faders and balls to send MIDI CC messages. And I'd rather not show up to a gig (or for that matter, sit down to play around at home) and discover that Live's latest update broke some script I need. Basic MIDI seems best.
But I can't seem to get it working with Live. I've got a bank of 8 faders sending to daemon 0, each with a unique CC number.
I've got the daemon running.
My lemur app shows that it is connected.
I've got daemon 0 selected in Live for MIDI input and output in both the controller setup and the buttons below.
I also have Push plugged in but that shouldn't make a difference.
What am I missing here? Shouldn't it just show up like a plain old MIDI device?
Thanks.
