hello again
i'm trying to give lemur another go to get it successfully into my workflow, to do that it requires a bit of setting up, sorting out
a couple of years ago i asked a few simple questions and got nowhere to be honest, left me in a bit of a checkmate state
i've hacked a few solutions together over the years but nothing to build up a head of steam
so, i'm back at ground zero

help !

this is part of a question i posted a couple of years ago, is it me or is this broken

Q) the alt keystroke associated with this 'Lemur Connection' icon does *not* work - none of the Alt+? keystrokes do (on 10.6 Mac) ! Is it just me ?

Sure I can click the icon, but in general, when UIs slow me down or are 'difficult' i loose patience and drive to continue

I want to start here getting in and around the editor efficiently so that the thinking part of using lemur is left for scripts etc

Hi
Not sure if it has worked - but then never really been bothered by it not working . . . Probably just hanging around from Legacy Editor . . .
It really is not that much of an issue in my mind - Just connect at the start of your session, and hit Synchro or use Command+R (it works) . . .
Occasionally if you lose the connection you might get confused when testing on your iPad but just remember to resend at critical test times .. .

Not much speed is gained really, and it does not really matter that much, it does not need to be a 'quick' experience and its not that difficult . . .
In fact you should be spending a lot of time in the design/development stage before you even start building/coding things imho . . .

i'll man up and overlook these niggles (try anyway), when you are fighting the environment and not the solutions/designs/algorithms etc it soon grates, but that's just me

a bit of finesse on the front end is waaaaaaaaay more impressive than all the 'bells and whistles' that are out of reach !
making a good interface is not easy, but it could be more newcomer friendly

i wish the palette parts of the window would separate mind you so i could use this extended desktop, otherwise it's all a bit cramped

In fact - to sum up my UI bugbear annoyance - i am actually invigorated to try lemur again because of the new possibilities
to my mind the old skins, even the 'simple' ones are a UI fail - unreadable in many cases
it's virtually impossible to tell 'meaningfully' without reference to a number, whether a 0-127 slider e.g. is at 0,1,2 or 125,126,127
i'm hoping to do some custom simple sliders which reflect a noticeable difference between 0 &1 and 126 and 127 (ie toggle a border on/off for 0,64,127 states)

anyway - i'll ask support about the copy to library issue and try to stay +ve about the niggley stuff

cheers
