Midi control query

Hi,
I've made a controller template to control modul8 VJ software.

Part of this template is a grid of buttons that I wish to use to control a sequencer within modul8

So 16 buttons cover one bar of music. So if the first button is on a video clip will appear on screen on the first beat of the bar for 1/16 of the bar if the button is off it won't appear.

In modul8 it has the 16 buttons to do this and if one is in an on state it is red and if button is off it is blue

I have set up a similar looking grid in the lemur app that has the same on off look but when I allocate any of the buttons to control the sequencer they don't behave as i want them to. The first press activates the button on the sequencer but I have to press it twice for it go off which then on ipad shows that the switch is in an on state but in modul8 the clip is off so I can't see correctly in lemur what is happening in modul 8 which makes the lemur grid incredibly hard to use.

I just want it so if it shows on in lemur it shows on in modul8 .
Could anyone tell me how to sort this please?

Not sure but this definitely sounds like a mismatch of pad/switch communication between Lemur and your VJ software (which I know nothing of).

If you have tried both switch and pad objects and nothing fits the bill, try this one...it MAY be what you need

Thank you for helping me out.

The Mackie button you linked to does fit the purpose very well but I have a couple of problems with it.

1, If I place more than one of the buttons down, if I press one the other one is activated too. I have tried a few things to correct this.
Changed the controller number on one of the buttons. No effect.
Imported the button rather than duplicating it. No effect.

2, I need to change the colour of it as I am colourblind and have a bit of trouble seeing the difference between the on and off states.
When I have tried to change the colour states of the button in the lemur editor, the button then doesnt work in its appearance as a switch anymore and returns to its pad behaviour visually.

Once again, thanks for your help though. I'm going through the lemur manual and the modul8 one to see if I can work it out, but if you think I am doing something wrong please let me know.

Hi there.

You know - this is something that occurred to me a while ago as quite interesting actually. High-contrast versions of stuff, versions to help compensate for colourblindness etc.

I wonder could you tell me, or point to any resource on what the best way to go about this systematically might be? Anything would help - colours to avoid, particularly troublesome combinations thereof . . . that kinda thing?

Thanks.
