Removing or disabling the settings tab?

I'm setting up a controller that is intended to sit in a dj booth and give whoever is in there limited acces to the visuals in the club. A large part of my brief for this project is to make it "idiot proof"..
the ipad sits in a security case removing any acces to the buttons.
so far so good.. the only potential danger is the user having access to the settings page, especially the 'edit project' section!... giving the user an opportunity to edit and delete the template could be disastrous..

so my question is
does anybody know if there is a way to disable access to the settings tab, or maybe just disabling the 'edit project' part?

im guessing this probably isnt posible, but if anyone can help or suggest any alternative idea, be most appreciated... ive hit a bit of a brick wall (except maybe covering that part of the ipad too.. :?: )

No, not possible - a consequence of the iOS not being multiuser, so per-user ACLs are very much all-or-nothing AIUI.

I guess the Liine guys could introduce in-app permissions for kiosk usage though.

Get thee hence to the Wishlist section and make a request! It's a really good idea. I wish more audio gear had a lockout mode.

Is it really that hard for people (future users) to follow simple instructions such as "Whatever you do, dont touch that button, and dont mess with the program"....

Geee....I mean, why cant people show some discipline its beyond me!

Frankly though I 've read somewhere and I quote:

"Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool"
