updating osc-FAder from Supercollider

Post by Pieter »

Hi all,
when I send the OSC-message " n.sendMsg("/volume", 0.1); "
from Supercollider to Lemur the slider-position of the \volume-fader is updated but the new value is not sent back to SC. WHat am I missing?
Thanks for any help!

Hi
Just clarifying that the first part is SC code - the OSC 'message' is the address '/volume' with an arg of '0.1' . . .
Messages can be set up to be bi=directional in that the OSC message set for an object is also what it responds to . . .
However it won't resend what it responds to because it may have sent that message in the first place . . .

I would look at your program design - so you are sending a message to a Fader and wanting that Fader to send it back to SC to do something?
Why not just send the command locally to SC to achieve the needed control and send to Lemur to update the feedback?
