UDP/TCP functionality

Hi forum,
I think about buying lemur but I am not sure if it fits my needs: I work as an av technician and loads of the gear I use is remotable via network (tcp or udp). For instance I use Aja kipro for playback and recording video or playbackpro (an osx based software video player) to arrange playlists. Furthermore I use many different projectors with network functions.
So I wonder if Lemur is the right choice. Is it possible (and secure) to send udp or tcp commands to these devices? And if yes, would you recommend to use Lemur for these tasks? Does there allready exist a template?
Looking forward to get some ideas or advices.
Thanks a lot in advance.
