As the title says,

Connectivity is solid as a rock.

(I have also set random static ips and a subnet of 255.255.255.0) - But I did this before the 6.0.1 update - I dont know if it is still neccesary with new ios - Will test..

Anyway, all is good, this setup works 100% =)

EDIT: ok, looks like it also works over dhcp - but it takes a lot longer to connect and, not that it matters but the wifi symbol is not visible on the ipad.
I am going back to static ips... its a lot quicker ;)

have fun ! =)

Can you please provide more details on how everything is set up, both in the Windows PC and in the iPad because I have been trying all day to make this work and I can't!

Thanks in advance!

Ok here is the way I did it - perhaps it will help others too!

SETTING UP ad-hoc connection between iPad iOS 6.0.1 and Windows 7 64 bit

1.Create a new ad-hoc network as instructed in Liine's support videos.

2. Once the network is created open "Networks and Sharing Center"

3. Select "Manage wireless networks" in the left panel.

4. Select the created ad-hoc network, and click Adapter Properties. (If this triggers a Windows system warning message, please agree to proceed.)
In the Properties dialog, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
Click "Use the following IP address" and specify the desired IP address. For example:

IP address. 192.168.10.1
Subnet mask. 255.255.255.0

5.In iPad select your ad-hoc network created in your PC and change the settings to "static"
Give your iPad the IP adress: 192.168.10.2 and use the same subnet mask as above: 255.255.255.0

Done!

I didnt change those - left them as is.

But today I found out that changing the "adapter properties" is "global" for all networks so my changing of IP settings rendered my laptop unable to connect to standard wi-fi router internet connection. So I changed them back to default settings and used the "alternative settings" to set a static IP there. I havent yet tried with this method as Im currently at work, but will try tonight and report back!

Though I was working in home studio yesterday and my main pc which has an usb wifi adapter worked like a charm with all three of my ipads. But i had difficullty gettting more than one to work with my laptop. It's hit or miss.

Reporting back: Works flawlessly - all I had to do is use "alternate settings".

I think I figured out problem I was having I have to connect my ipad 2 first to adhoc network then can connect other 2 iPads ones no problem. If I do ipad one first have an issue adding second ipad. Bizarre . But I have hopelly figured it put a couple more days and one or two experiments and I should now for sure.
