Multiple ipads with wired connection?

Hi!

Currently im using my old jazzmutant lemur (ethernet) and an ipad running griid (ad-hoc) with my macbook pro. In the not so distant future i would like to retire my dear old jazzmutant and get 2 more ipads so i can run griid, lemur and lets say konkreet performer.

Connecting griid through the ad-hoc network is working great but it sure is a stressy thing setting up when your on stage and everything needs to work in a couple of minutes. If i get 2 more ipads it wont get any better. So to my question: Is there a way of connecting 3 ipads to a computer without using wireless connections? I currently have the "iconnect midi" and it works great but it only fits one ipad. Is there any solution out there now? I know this question have been around for a while and different answers all the time........

Any help here would be greatly appreciated!

I feel ya pain.

My solution to this (similar) problem involving two iPads was to purchase a second iConnect - very reluctantly, as I feel the ommission of an adequate number of USB ports on the thing to handle multiple iPads and the inclusion of the hub host facility is more speclist bulletpoint than fully useful.

Finding a decent, reliable powered hub is in itself somewhat of a crapshoot - and then you're faced with the problem that it's only useful for the most generic of controller devices. Anything that steps beyond basic MIDI (Novation stuff springs to mind) just doesn't function fully IME, requiring a direct connection to the host.

Konkreet Performer uses OSC and there's no way to use it over a wired MIDI conn. Ad hoc is the only solution available for low-latency operation.

So we would appear to have few options besides the purchase of multiple iConnect devices (or equivalent - but they do seem to be regarded as the gold-standard) and it's WiFi all the way if you need OSC. Hilariously, the iConnect manual states that WiFi performance (of the iPad / iPhone) may suffer while using iConnect! ^_^

As if running the wireless wasn't already (potentially) detrimental to low-latency audio on the DAW side of things at least on PC, don't know if Macs are similarly affected.

And the whole thing could be solved by Apple allowing / providing some way to run networking out through the dock-connector (never gonna happen).

Hi there. Sorry for the late reply...
Yes and yes and yes.... Guess we will have to wait for a miracle then :(
I just tried my friends "The missing link" (http://wifimidi.com/) which seems to work out as it should. Though its not a wired connection but it takes away the "make a ad-hoc network on your computer" everytime. I will borrow it once i can to find out if it solves anything for me.
