Running MU on two iPads - weird crosstalk

Post by syncretist »

Hey all -

So, I'm really enjoying running MU on my iPad with Live. Actually, I have two iPads, and well, two is better than one. I'd love to be able to leave the clips up on one of them and use the other for whatever is appropriate for mixer and device controls.

My installation is seeing both the iPads, and pushing the template down correctly, but what happens is that the disclosure / arrow keys on one of the ipads end up affecting the other iPad instead - and on the iPad that's not responding to its own buttons, the clips window remains full screen, but won't scroll, or respond to taps. The other iPad works just fine.

I've changed my Port number to 8001 per the manual ('don't use 8000 if you have more than 1 lemur'), and removed the MIDI targeting information so only the OSC targets are set; both iPads are set to OSC 0, same host ip (10.0.1.10), and the same port.

Suggestions to fix this? I feel like it should work, essentially running them as independent interfaces.

Hi
I don't have a second iPad handy to check this out but I think you made need to implement two mu devices with the different addresses for your devices.
Are you trying to do it with one device?
Will try andget a second unit and see what I can offer . .
