Lemur and MU Troubles

I've been attempting to get the MU (Max for Live) Lemur template running today with no luck. I'm hoping the forums can help. I have read through many posts but haven't found a solution.

A I am able to create an ad hoc network and can connect to my iPad Lemur via the Lemur Daemon. I have the Template running on my iPad.

However I have the following problems.

According to the youtube tutorial Lemur Daemon will "recognize" iPads running Lemur automatically. My version never has. I am able to manually add port connections so I can work around this one, but if anyone knows why it doesn't automatically recognize I'd like to know.

On the Lemur
1. When I run the MU template on my iPad I am never able to get the mixer faders to become visible. Similarly the additional options in the transport (e.g. chaining tempo, quantize, etc) won't become visible either. I've pressed every button on the screen with no luck. I only get the primary grid and can never reach the sub options no matter what I press.

In Live
1. I drop the mu.amxd file into a session. It's not clear where you're supposed to drop this so i drop it on an empty audio channel (I've tried it on a channel with tracks, on the master all without success). I hit the scan button on the device which seems to scan forever.
2. When I open the mode preferences I see a Daemon in for the iPad but NOT a Daemon Out. I have set up both input and output ports on the Lemur Daemon for Live only seems to recognize the input.

Ultimately Live never gets any input from the Lemur and the Lemur gets no input from live. I can't even fire a clip from the Lemur using the template let alone see clip names on the iPad.

Anyone got any advice?

Hi
It will recognise Lemurs but it will not auto-setup MIDI or OSC connections- it should autoconnect properly setup connections after that..

You don't mention anything about your Mu install - Is it set up correctly?
Mu requires M4L and needs the Mu directory installed into Max's filepath - Is this done?
Without these done correctly lemur's Mu can not communicate with Live.

You need to go through the Mu manual which explains the setup procedure.
Ordinarily Mu would be placed in the Master track.

Have you scrolled down the MIDI port list - I think all Daemon ports should be visible regardless of whether you have set them up or not

Check that you meet all dependencies and installation requirements. Mu does work.

Cheers
MM

I believe my MU install is correct for m4L but I will double check this tonight.

Thanks for the advice. I will try again tonight.
