Scripting Language?

Post by joonielipton »

Can anyone help me with a good reference for the rules that govern the language used for scripting in Lemur?
I just need somewhere to start.
I dont have any programming experience but I will learn what I need to.

Any help at all would be great.

Hi
First point of reference is the Lemur User Guide - http://liine.net/en/support/lemur
Read through it all and do some of the examples - print out some of the references.

Check out the User Library for some tutorial topics and go through those as well.
Check out parts of projects that interest you to work out how they work

Follow the various discussions and ask questions on the this Forum

Realise that a lot of standard stuff can be achieved without the need for any scripting what so ever or a minimal amount.

Cheers

absolute sound advice. thank you.

i have learned a great deal from reading the manual and going through some of the examples contained within.

i have accomplished much with just my limited knowledge of programming. the software is easy to use and it
allows for a great deal of creativity.

i have run into a specific problem now and i cant find a solution.

-i use lemur to trigger ableton clips.
-i have "songs" (groupings of clips) arranged into groups in ableton and i have designed an interface to control them (including start/stop, volume, sends etc)
-i would like to be able to see on my pad which clips are running

i know there are several options to accomplish this. (ie button color, led). but this is where some knowledge of programming language may be of help i suspect.
i am unsure of the syntax to use for this instruction.

thanks for any help.
