controller feedback and external midi devices

Hi Folks
Ive come across a bit of a stumbling block and was hoping you guys could chip in with some advice.
Im using lemur to control an external midi device through ableton live.
In my midi channel settings I have (midi from > Daemon Input 0)
the only way I can get lemur to respond to ableton is if I set (midi to > Daemon Output 0)
this is no good to me because in order to control my external device I have to set (midi > midi output 1) ie the physical midi port connected to my device.
It seems that I cannot have both visual feed back on the lemur and external midi control at the same time.
Does anyone know of a work around?
Cheers
Dan

I am having the same problem with Cubase and Vsti.....it seems that we are out of luck so far...

Hi
In Live you should be able to duplicate a MIDI track(or more) and set it to receive MIDI from another track and send it to a different particular output. This should allow you to output to both devices. Did I understand your issue properly and does this provide a solution.

Thankyou Macciza. Your work around works pretty well although I still have a couple of minor issues to resolve.
When controlling the multiball object the other balls stop responding to incoming midi.
Also, when I release my finger from the multiball, the physics become very jerky and dont work properly, even with 0 friction the balls still stop straight away.
Im guessing this is down to lemur getting confused by a midi feedback loop?
This is great progress, hopefully you guys will have some more sound advice to getting this working more smoothly.
Cheers

@ Adlearee, are you experiencing any jerkiness with controls that have any physics attributes switched on? I think that midi feedback is bypassed internally until the control has been physically released, hence multi-objects stopping feedback whilst being controlled. I'm not 100% sure though, may be someone @ Liine can confirm this.
I'm controlling a second computer running bidule via ableton live on the main computer. At the moment the midi data is transmitted over a wifi network using midi studio (built in to osx). I will test this using a wired network and a line 6 midi mobilizer 2 tomorrow.
I'll let you guys know how I get on.
The main caveat with this method is that you need to record and edit 2 lanes of midi data which, when editing can go out of sync if you're not careful. not the end of the world but something to bear in mind.
