hi.

i have my iPad running lemur connected via usb midi into the iconnect midi.

its all set up and working and ableton is receiving and sending midi fine.

when i load the mu template onto the master track it doesn't see the lemur unless wifi is on.

the whole point of this was so i didn't have to have wifi on and i could use the more reliable usb connection.

is there anyone that can tell me why this is?

thanks!

Hi
Um, you need M4L and Mu needs to be in Maxs path also . . .
It does not communicate over MIDI - it uses OSC . . .
And no, you don't send OSC over USB MIDI . . .

i have max and the patch is in max's path.
this video from liine shows them setting up usb midi - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C53FwpKy ... r_embedded
if what you say is true then whats the point of connecting it with a wire?
whats the point of that video?
is it just max for live that doesnt allow usb connections?

Hi
The Lemur app sends both MIDI and OSC
MIDI can be sent wirelessly or cabled - OSC is only sent wireless . . .
Mu communicates via OSC not MIDI, hence the Wireless connection
The videos point is connecting the Lemur with wires for hardware MIDI devices etc etc
The video is not specific to the Mu project, it is simply for USB MIDI
The key issue is that Mu communicates via OSC not MIDI.
