Waldorf Pulse synthsizer template

Dusted off my old Waldorf Pulse synth and spent the last 4 days reshaping my DSI Mopho series template for it.

Making a synth patch on the studio couch is an awesome experience for me! Using the Waldorf front panel matrix was not my strong point. So no more bending over or standing in front of the equipment rack for this one. :)

Features:
Switch breakpoint ADSR envelope to sliders with a simple toggle.
Slider to set all oscillators to the same key and octave as Osc#1.
Multiball controller assignable to many parameters, still more work to do there.
Select Lemur output device + synth input MIDI channel from Help screen.

to add:
Read full sysex patch dump and set on-Lemur screen to match.
Save/load current Lemur controller state for recall/comparison.
Other stuff noted in "to do" of help.

hope someone finds new life in their Waldorf Pulse!

cheers~

Hi Jay

big fan of the pulse and recently bought an ipad and lemur. Your template is an absolute BEAUTY, and to have the mod matrix on the ipad is just fantastic and gives a great overview. Really cool and for a synth that screems to get a dedicated controller like this. Did I say it looks the business?

Now....what can I do that you implement the patch-reading ability of the template? It would be soooo great if I could look at some patches and tweak them on etc.

Anyway, I don't want to be an ungrateful git - this template is already lifting the synth to another level for sure!

Thank you very much in deed!

Hey Flo,

Thanks for the feedback! Excellent to hear that the template is useful. :D
I have learned quite a bit about Lemur programming since making the template in Feb2012,
and have had updates in mind for it.

I expect be able to implement:
1) Full patch decoding.
2) Save/Recall slots in Lemur for easy access to program variations.
3) Font alignment corrections (Lemur Retina display update messed it up a bit).
4) More Lemur toy options for parameter automation.

Just need to find the time. ;)

Anyone else have suggestions to consider?

I'll post an update to this thread.

cheers~

So I was able to put the hours into it, well... more like days of work to overhaul it enough to accept CCs and Sysex send/receive.

There are new and improved features but they require a little more testing! :)

Almost there, I have full sysex patch decoding working. I had an amazing Pulse session last night making new patches... but found the bugs to fix. Also the Pulse.. or my Pulse (firmware 2.01) seems to have a temper and doesn't always do what is expected, when expected!!

Overview (will post details upon release):
Added an in template preset system, compare/recall individual synth sections, oscillator sync/set tools, my previously released MiniKeys/NoteGen integrated.. bugs fixed especially in Envelopes area which was making me the craze.. and much more 'under the hood'.

I'll be posting when it's ready hopefully this week! :D

New features introduce new bugs.. so I'm still in the process of fine tuning. 8-)
Overall though the new and improved is working much better than the March 2012 release!
Will keep everyone posted though.. ;)

This looks really awesome. I especially liked the animated assign panel with grid toggles. I don’t know much about all this since I am new here. I am really enjoying reading all the threads in this forum. Keep up the good work.

just wanted to let you know that this template no longer works with the latest editor :S
at least i wasn't able to load it up and i have no idea why it happens, but i suspect some of the new features that came along with ver.4
aren't somehow compatible. i'd really appreciate it if someone would look into it, i tried to load it up numerous times but the editor crashes so
i have no idea what actually is wrong.

Hi beetfunchic,

Thanks for the info about that. :)

I tried it with Editor 4.01 in Windows and it did crash the editor right away, the new un-released version does the same.

Are you using the Windows version? I tried the template on the Mac version of the editor, where I developed it, and it seems to work fine.

A workaround for now is to copy templates via iTunes.

The template should be 100% compatible between the older and current Lemur versions because I didn't exactly use any special or hidden legacy functions. I do know that there is a bug in the Editor that can cause the program to exit sometimes, and I don't have any perfect workarounds for that. We'll need to wait for Lemur updates.
