yeah i think that i was overreacting a bit going into the whole DOS limitations thing.
I realize that it's an accidental bug in the Editor. :)

Sorry for your experience, we're raising the file size limit in an upcoming update.
Note the the small pie-chart at the bottom right of the Editor shows the RAM used by the template's objects and variables when loaded on the iPad, which is not the same as the size occupied by the template file when saved to disk. The 512 kB limit applies when saving templates to disk, wether from the Editor or from the Lemur app.

are there any news on a release date for a new version of the editor? You know, when I'm waiting for something a week feels like ages and if I don't know for how long I have to wait it's even worse!
So please can you estimate a date? Are we talking about 4 days, 2 months, half a year, years?

Please fix this 512kb issues and release an update.

This 512kb limit is a joke! Its good to read that this issue will be fixed in the next update. Otherwise this company will soon cease to exist like the jazzmutant. I lost hours of hard work yesterday to find out this ridiculous limitation. (which is nowhere to be found in the manual)

Hi
The 512kb limit was a 'carry-over' from the the original hardware Lemur which had 4M of RAM to run everything - some limits are needed . . .
Yes it is being fixed in the next, that is 'first', update so it is really a bit early to be forecasting doom and gloom for the future of Lemur . . .
As to 'ridiculous limitation' - how on earth did all those famous artists ever manage 512k limit? And how basic/complex are the projects that you can do?

Hopefully there will still be some limitation to project size to avoid the situation where people build badly coded, bloated patches that consume too much system resources - and then complain . . .

Cheers
MM

its ridiculous because you dont get any warning what so ever or it was stated in the manual! If I see 11% on a screen, it seems to me that I have room to spare and to add some more features... Like I said I wasted hours programming the lemur not knowing this limitation, and it seems I'm not the only one here...

Hey forum,

First post for me, I've been lurking for a while and absorbing the various videos before taking the plunge and getting the Lemur app.

First up I think it's great the thing has been developed, my first musical experiments were on a BBC Model B and technical progress is astounding.

I'm looking forward to getting it but the support and resolution of bugs like this will be crucial to me laying out the $.

And, let's face it, it's a bug, not a limitation, I code for the living and an application that loses data without warning or documentation in really big bold letters is bugged. The reports of crashing on Windows are also worrying.

So, waiting for a update, I hope to contribute more once I get the thing up and running. :)

This was driving me crazy, too.

The 3.0.4 editor was just released and it solved the problem. I'm on 27% and no problems at all.

Thanks guys.

Max

Indeed the new version seems to work. I'm at 15% at the moment and no errors so far. Good job Liine! Thank you for resolving this issue so quickly and for listening to your customers!!!
