I have the same problem with lemur daemon when my phone is connected via adhoc wifi but can also confirm the workaround above.
Turn on airplane mode before connecting to adhoc wifi
Then connect and manually choose target with lemur app and the daemon reveals all
I can then turn off airplane mode and stay connected

Seems like a random problem but the workaround is still quicker and more reliable than
setting up network midi is with say touchosc so im not complaining

HI Coalive,

Can I ask What version of Lemur daemon are you using? I am asking becasue I had a small issue with the latest daemon version, however I've tried with other old version I have in my computer and that did the trick.
Don't know if that helps, just in case you want to check that out.
Cheers,

Can you state precisely what doesn't work ?
The control question in registration is meant to prevent spam bots from registering, it's pretty common.

I just bought the app and set everything up with the latest versions this evening, and I had the misfortune of stumbling upon this problem the first time I tried it with my iPhone 4S. I restarted the app and the daemon, tried wifi and adhoc wifi, and I had no success. Fortunately for me, I also have an old ipad 1, and I fired it up and it connected right away on the adhoc and wifi networks.

I switched my iphone to Airplane mode and back as suggested, and BAM, it connected instantly. I suspect there's some other network service that's preventing the iphone app from communicating out, and switching it to airplane mode interrupts that connection to allow the lemurs to connect.
