that should work.
What is the IP and subnetmask of your computer? And the subnetmask for the iPad?

Hi sorry for late reply.
Connecting via ad-hoc network I see 169.254.1.5, 255.255.0.0

Hi mm, as Phil asked - you need to tell us the Subnet Mask you see at BOTH ends of the connection, the iPad AND the computer.
Essentially, they need to match, so both devices are on the same subnet.

So I tried fiddling with it this morning. Both devices are on the same subnet mask. Still no luck.
iPad:
169.254.1.11
255.255.0.0
PC:
169.254.1.5
255.255.0.0
Any other suggestions?

Okay - next thing to check would be your firewall settings.

Changed both PC and iPad to 255.255.255.0. No change, I'm afraid.
Can you think of any Firewall settings I should try? I just tried turning it off completely with no change.

I just noticed something interesting. If I don't have any MIDI targets already connected, my iPad doesn't show up in the list for Select Source Port for: "Mouse and Keyboard".
The second I connect a MIDI Target (via LoopBE30), "My iPad v5.03 (169.254.11:8001) appears.
Shouldn't it make no difference to KBMouse if MIDI is connected or not?

Beats the sh*t outta me!
One thing though, possibly (probably!) unrelated . . . I never had much luck with LoopBE. I always found the free loopMIDI app to be much better.

As for suggested firewall settings - 'allow' seems appropriate!
However, if disabling the firewall hasn't resolved your issue, it doesn't seem to be a factor, or at least not the *only* factor. I certainly wouldn't recommend disabling the firewall as anything other than a temporary troubleshooting step though.

you and me both, brother! I have no clue what's going on...
I actually think it may be a problem with my iPad since it hasn't worked on either my OSX or Windows system...
