arts|UNMUTED qbedit - the ultimate controller for Cubendo

Post by artsUNMUTED »

Hi Lemur users,

I am all excited to tell you that I have just released arts|UNMUTED qbedit - the next incarnation of my popular qb template. Now it features over 200 custom icons, an enhanced channel strip with 32-segment metering inherited from arts|UNMUTED qbmix and the innovative Touch&Return system. And with qbmix it can work in a multi-iPad setup giving you unprecedented control over Cubase and Nuendo.

For more info see http://www.artsunmuted.com and watch the promo http://youtu.be/ycq0xv0hjOs.

Enjoy!

very nice, as usual. 32-segment metering and over 200 custom icons! And v.4 gives some new options graphically, I'm sure it looks and functions perfectly. I almost regret that I'm already covered with my own templates.

Just one question because we talked about this earlier: for the meters, do you use single Leds objects, or an Leds array with a formula? You don't need to share the formula, I just want to know if it's possible within Lemur to replicate the exact metering of Cubendo.

Thanks for kind words:-). I used single and double lED objects because the array is limited to 16 LEDs - I know I could split the scale but I wanted the meters to reflect Nuendo scale and it would be unnecessary complex to write the two formulas that and emulate the required behavior. Also using single or double object was easier for colors. I know it is not elegant programming-wise but it works OK.

exactly my thought.

In a 32-channel mixer I built a while ago there is some lag, graphically, on an iPad2. Next to the elegant programming there's also another reason to have the meter in one object. But it looks like we will continue using single Led's. It's easier for values and colours, and performs just fine for a couple of meters.

Regarding visibility of meters: one line of Led's is not very bright. I also used double Led's, but went back to single Led's because it's a mono meter. In your template however, judging from the videos, it looks good with double Led's. I'm sure you put a lot of thought into your works, balancing functionality and design. One can see it.

As a graphic designer, I can just admire what you do with Lemur.
