Can't detect/select MIDI ports from Lemur Daemon/iPad app

Post by ishaan »

Hello,

I am using Windows 8, and trying to connect via Wi-Fi. Both iPad and laptop are on the same network. Loopbe30 is running and Internal MIDI ports are enabled. The iPad app does not detect them though. And in Lemur Daemon, I can "Add" the Internal MIDI ports but then there is no "Destination" for them to connect to. What am I missing here?

Thanks,

Ishaan

OK, with Connectify, I can get things working. But I didn't need Connectify back when I was using Windows 7...so what happened? I don't want to have to use an extra app if I don't need to...simple is good...

Some feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Win8 introduced some changes ,like no easy adhoc setup, that may be part of the problem . ..
It sounds like you are connecting via a router ? Are any firewalls running that may be blocking the Lemur comms?
An update due out soon should address many of these problems . . .

Hope that helps

Thank you for your response, Macciza,

Yes, I am trying to connect through a router. I did try turning off firewalls completely to see if that would fix the problem but to no avail...I don't really know enough about them to know which specific firewalls may be blocking Lemur comms though..

I ended up coughing up USD $45 for Connectify Pro. It does work quite well...but I feel guilty as I feel I may have simply overlooked something and paid for a product when I didn't need to... :(
