Evolver template questions

Post by T-CM11 »

Does anyone have experience with this?
- Some things don't seem the change the sound.
- Some elements don't have any labels
Also, when I select the iPad as midi input/controller in the Evolver Soundtower editor, the Evolver reacts to the changes but the ST editor doesn't change onscreen.

Is there no 'guide' somewhere for this template?

Hi
Not sure - you may have to chase up the author of the project for complete details . .
Or have a look under the hood and try to work out what is happening and what the problem might be , sorry . . .

As to the Editor on your computer not changing - there could be many reasons . .
The project may be meant to be used directly to the device and not account for the Editor.
Even though the data gets to the Device it may not be MIDI thru-ing the data for it to affect the editor.

Sorry I can't give more definitive answers.

It says (author): Posted by: LEGACY USER
No email address or anything else :(

I can make simple templates using midi CC's... but trying to analyse this complicated Evolver project with sysex in it: By the time I ever find out, I can make the template myself. So I'm not going to do that - I make music, I'm not a full time programmer.

true, this is a bit of a dilemma. Learning to understand and write scripts can take considerable time if you have no background in programming. I mostly have to force myself to get my templates done, I'd rather just use what I've already got and perform with it.

On the other hand, it is not rocket science. And there is an extraordinary community here who often helped me out if the manual and examples weren't enough. I guess the real difficult part for me is to ask the right question.

LEGACY USER is probably stuff from the Jazzmutant site. Another important resource of knowledge, examples, and tutorials.
