Script Editor

Post by joebataz »

Hi all,

Been a long time. Mainly because I'm out there with my Lemur app which I've come to depend MIGHTILY on! I has without a doubt been a GREAT tool,

BUT

I am trying to add new features to my app and banging my head into what I can only figure as script character limits. I had thought that the limit for a script was 4K characters but I'm hitting the limit at 2000. I've had to go in and change my object names from something that made sense, i.e. getPresetName to getPN to make my scripts shorter. And forget trying to do any meaningful script editing in the editor. Of course I have found that using BBEdit on the .jzml file is a very useable method (ALSO NOT FOR THE FAINT OF HEART!!!!!) Being able to cut and paste to an external text editor from the Lemur editor is still not working and REALLY needs to.
Another issue that I see that is STILL not resolved is changing text size on pad arrays. BOO HISS!!!!! Yes I found a very kludgey way around it by using 64 text fields to change text sitting on top of a button but it still would be nice to do it with the pad label array.

All in all I still like the OOs and AAHs I get when I'm out DJ/VJing and I can walk out in the crowd and run my lights/lasers/software from my iPads. Yes I have 3 but generally use 2 and of course my iPhone for the lasers. I am currently interfacing to Live, Traktor, VDJPro, Resolume Avenue and a MOTU UltraLite3. Lighting is controlled via DMX thru a DMXIS box which I also control from my iPad Lemur app.
So thanks for Lemur and the new features but please keep the script limit, text size issues on the wishlist near the top.

Best regards to the Lemur community and feel free to contact me. I am kinda busy now but will find the time to get back to any questions thrown in my direction

Hi Joe

Great to hear everything is going well, the OOHS and AAHS are always good to get . . .

Would love to maybe see a write-up, some screenshots/vids of what you have done/are doing . .
I think many Forum members and visitors would be similarly interested and impressed
Will pass your comments along - send in a more detailed report to support if you wish . .

Thanks for popping in despite the work schedule

Cheers

Hey Macciza!!!

This week actually is going to be a little slow with T'Day. Be more than happy to put some stuff together, screen shots, descriptions. I did a 7th & 8th grade dance at my son's school and I had the geek squad sitting behind me watching what I was doing. I've got a long list of wannabe apprentices. I have pictures and some videos up on my website:
www.stoneagelighting.com

They don't show the new lasers, Scorpion Class 3A GBC and RGY or the sound system. I've added 2800 watts of sound. And the video sound is horrendous by design. I put some videos up with clean tight sound and got some emails from the copyright police so I muddy up the sound and did voiceovers. Everything that is happening with the lighting on the videos is coming out of my Lemur app. I'm still having a few issues with timing but nothing anyone but me notices. I'm doing work on the sequencer section and it's coming along well but I still wish I had a way to write my sequences directly to the iPad from the Lemur app.

Gotta run and watch the tree lighting ceremony but great to hear from you. Again sorry for not being on the forum as much as I used to but the flip side is the business I am doing. Be talking to you soon!

Best regards to ALL!
