lemur app ios 6
Re: lemur app ios 6
I reported this to apple as well, because normally when you're connected to a network you create, it would still have that signal fan thing going, it only puts a tick next to it on the ipad...let's see i guess.
Re: lemur app ios 6
UPDATE re iOS6.
Lemur 3.2.2 has been submitted to Apple with fix's for iOS 6, WiFi connection etc.
Once it is approved (not sure on exact timeframe) it will be available via iTunes.
And I will post it's availability here as soon as I know.
Thanks for the various reports and support in sorting out this problem.
Cheers

Re: lemur app ios 6
I am having the same issue. Can you please mention in which version of the application this issue has been fixed? I am currently using iOS 6 on my iPad2. Is it possible to fix it without updating?

Re: lemur app ios 6
I think it is all about setting the correct static IP address and subnet mask. All devices should have the same numbers in the first three fields (maybe only in the first two):
IP: aaa.bbb.c.x
subnet: 255.255.255.0
where x is different on each device/computer.
With this rule I have no problems anymore using a router or ad-hoc, and iOS 6.0.1, and Windows machines. Earlier (iOS 5) I did it all wrong it seems, using totally different IP addresses, but iOS 5 was more 'tolerant' and I was believing it had to be like this. It worked well until iOS 6, so I was confident to have the correct settings. I remember that in the beginning (early 2012) I did it almost right as described above (it's a logical step actually), but it wasn't working for some other reason that I can't quite remember. Maybe because I used Connectify, maybe because of old firmware for the wifi card, maybe because of 255.255.0.0 for the subnet, I don't know. I read one had to use 255.255.0.0 and not 255.255.255.0, so I did not change that for months.
It's also possible that the settings may be correct, but you just need to reboot iPad/computer or reset the network settings on the iPad. That lead me (and many others) to a wrong trace, repeating the same mistakes again and again, thinking they must be right.
Reading about other people's connection problems did quite often add to the confusion. The blind leading the blind.
Now I think, after about 11 months experience with wireless networks, I can be really confident and setup any kind of wireless connection to Windows and Mac machines and routers in short time, without having to experiment or go in a wrong direction. I also learned that MIDI clock syncing is only usable with wired MIDI connections.
I enjoy this very much, and concentrate on finishing templates and of course doing music sessions almost every day.

Re: lemur app ios 6
I think the whole thing is also wifi-card dependent.
I set up Lemur first in my gig-laptop. Followed the tips found on the forums, made static IPs (192.168.10.1-laptop, 192.168.10.2-iPad) and used 255.255.255.0 subnet. Also enabled WEP protection. Results - works like a charm, always, no hickups, no latency, perfect!
I did the exact same settings on my PC which has a no-name-no-brand USB wifi adapter - I used to have an ethernet cable on that, but I bought this wifi thingie just to be able to connect with Lemur and work on my projects. Guess what? The conectivity is poor, it keeps getting disconnected and frankly, if the behaviour of my PC-Lemur connection was my first expererience with the app, I would be very very dissapointed (and frustrated).
Some gigs are coming up so I dont have the time to troubleshoot but after those I will look into it. The only difference between the two machines (besides the wifi card) is laptop OS is Win 7 64bit while PC OS is Win 7 32bit.
