Since the wifi in my macbook has not been stable since I updated to Lion (been dealing with Apple for months now on this issue!), I am unable (with the update to 10.7.3) to create an ad-hoc network connection at all and am now forced to buy a hardware interface for my iPad. I work alone and usually only perform one track at a time and have no need really to connect multiple midi devices. There are 3 interfaces which seem nearly identical; line 6 midi mobilizer, iRig and Yamaha I-MX1. Since Liine recommends the iConnectMIDI interface, I'm wondering what I will be missing out on if I go the cheaper route and get one of the more portable solutions??
Is the latency noticeably lower?
Is the midi implementation better or more compatible in the iConnectMIDI?
etc...
Any advice in this matter is greatly appreciated...

Re: best midi interface for me - cannot create ad hoc connec
well, probably nobody replied cause this may have been answered in earlier posts but it appears that people are having issues with iRig in terms of stability/latency etc... Hard to spring for the iConnectMIDI but I may have to. Still hoping someone with experience will post their recommendation.
Would be curious to know it Midi Mobilizer II from Line 6 is more stable with Lemur than the other portable plug in solutions...
thanks,
Greg

I'm also interested to know if midi mobilizer II is the best one (I have to buy 8 interfaces....)
