I'm finding that OSC messages aren't being consistently delivered by Lemur to Usine running on my laptop. Occasionally messages are also delayed. I'm able to recreate the problem on different wifi networks, with different computers and with different audio applications (including Usine and bidule).
Has anyone experienced anything similar?

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
no. I think the only thing that is to blame is the wireless connection, not the software.

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
I have recreated the problem on several computers running different receiving apps, attached to different wifi networks. First principles point to the only item that hasn't changed - Lemur for iPad.
Has anyone experienced or delayed reception of OSC messages sent from Lemur?

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
with an ad-hoc network I never experienced any noticeable latency. At your place I assume it is a separate network device that makes this latency. Please provide more details about how you do the wireless network.

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
Hi
Really need more details - platform, network, data being sent etc etc Are you sending very large OSC packets?
Not being delivered? Delivered but corrupted? Delivered but out of sequence and not handled by receiver?
There are too many variables - udp itself is kinda 'lossy' no guarantees of delivery, error correction etc
Can you post a project that you are having problems with?
Cheers

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
The iPad is running iOS v5.0.4 (9A405). It is connected to a 802.11g wifi network via a Sagemcom F@ST2864 DSL-2 modem/router. I have also tried using a second wifi router - a Linksys WG54N - with the same kind of results.
The test laptop is a Dell Latitude i7-2720QM running W7 Pro 32 SP1 with 4GB of RAM and a 500 GB SATA HD. The wireless NIC in the laptop is an Intel Centrino Ultimate N 6300AGN. The Windows Firewall is disabled and I'm not running any anti-virus or security software on the computers at all.
The machines are all running on a single subnet - 192.168.2.0
I am having this problem sending pretty much any message including a single integer value from the iPad to 2 different VST patching applications - bidule and Usine. Both show the same issue - 5 - 20% dropped messages. Not corrupted (that I can see). Simply the OSC messages are not acknowledged by the laptop.
I have tested the iPad using TouchOSC and this app works fine.
Attached is Lemur the layout I am testing with. Pretty simple I think.

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
are you saying that with TouchOSC you have no latency, and with Lemur you do?

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
Yes. TouchOSC doesn't seem to demonstrate the problem.

Re: OSC not being delivered consistently
sometimes it is better to follow the instructions to the letter (user manual, chapter 3). Like I said before, your routers may be the cause of jitter and latency.
