Hi Everyone,
I've spent a long time making a few extra tabs for a Mu custom controller for a live pa. Unfortunately, I haven't been trying it out with other gear until now. Everything is set on midi 0, which transmits to midi 1. This conflicts with other gear (which MIDI channels cannot be changed). For the life of me, I can't figure out how to do a mass change of all midi parameters. I'm certain that this must exist - otherwise you'd have to modify every button one at a time on all pages (forgetting some, no doubt)!
I can click the little midi button (top right) to see what's assigned, but I can't change anything. Where/how can I change ALL the midi channels in one shot without clicking on each and every single oobject? I don't want to use 3rd party plugins.
Second, I've noticed that if I load a few items into the lemur editor, select them all, then hit the magic wand for assigning a CC, that it only assigns the last one. This is extremely annoying. Is there a simple way to assign all CCs for a page? Am I missing something?
Thanks in advance!
Mass Midi and magic wand re-config
Re: Mass Midi and magic wand re-config
Doing it all at once could be dangerous. Because, as you said, some things in your synths can't be changed. So, its like randomly addressing a package to everyone in your town and hoping that they all love what they receive (and some of them could be women, so if its not exactly what they want, your f'ed!)
Auto-mapping can be good and timesaving, but be careful

Re: Mass Midi and magic wand re-config
So sad! It's be much easier if I could just change EVERYTHING from midi 0 to let's say midi 9.
In my case, it's EXACTLY what I want to do.. oh well..
cheers!

Hi
Couple of comments
Mu mainly communicates via OSC - what are you doing MIDI wise?
Also do you want to change MIDI Target or Channel? Remember they are different . . .
I'm guessing you mean channel as there is no MIDI 9 Target - is that right? MIDITarget 0 Channel 9?
Depending on how your patch is set up you can use the 'Parent' feature to do multiple changes of target but it needs to be set up for that first.
Best scenario is if you use scripting you have programatic control of MIDI channels and can do things like select from your interface
Should probably be able to do it with some scripting I think or via text edit of the file as a last resort . . .
Hard to give an absolute answer without seeing the project . . .
Cheers
