Kontrolab2 MIDI Template [2.01]
Kontrolab2 MIDI Template [2.01]
Last update : 02/26/2012
Hi there,
Just wanted to share some project with the new community.
Donwload link : http://liine.net/en/community/user-library/view/171/
Pasted here some info from user library and screenshots (click for original size)
- New Feature: MUTATE
How it works?
Mutate allows to create a transition from the current multiball values to others generated randomly in a time and amount adjustable, As Table modulator, You can start the function mutate with your MIDI keyboard or a MIDI track in your DAW.
Controls:
- Mode: sets how the transition between the values is produced, there are two modes, linear and exponential.
- Time: sets the transition time.
- Amount %: sets the amount of randomness applied to current values, low values of amount will create more subtle variations, while high values will do the opposite.
- 8 White Leds: it allows you to include / exclude the balls being affected by the mutate function. If a ball is off, you can use it manually while mutate is working.
- Note Sync: activates the function with an incoming MIDI NOTE ON message.
- Note Restart: if note sync is on, every new Note ON message received will restarts the process.
- Tigger: trigs the function manually.
Some Mutate tips:
- Use long transition times for evolving sounds, ambients, pads, drones, etc.
- Try quick time with sounds like impact, percussive stuff.
- Use CC Range page to scale your assignments.
- Use Note Sync to activate it from your MIDI keyboard or MIDI Track.
- Sets an audio track to record, or enable your DAW to record MIDI controller data, it might be interesting to save these sound-variations to use later, for instance to create multilayer sounds , velocity layers, or just new single sounds, feel free to experiment.
Minor changes:
- Morph, Autofade Time and Length are buttons now.
- Small Modulator typo fixed.
- Some small UI tweaks.
Screenshots:
Key Features:
- It may be added to any of your favorite lemur templates, just importing it as jzlib (included).
- You can use it with any device (Hardware/Audio Plugins/Instrument Plugins,DAW, also like Video apps) that supports MIDI Control Change and MIDI Note messages.
- It offers creative functions to manipulate your sounds, if you are in sound design or sound experimentation, it might be a really useful tool for you "imho".
- It's more a studio tool, but I personally think it could be used in live situations too, using some fixed assignments maybe? FX, sends amounts, etc, or maybe some specific plugin.

* Interpolate.
* Grid Steps (Interpolate only).
* Mass-Spring with adjustable speed.
Morph Modulators
1 - ADSR Envelope Preset Morphing is driven from an ADSR signal with:
- Adjustable Time (Seconds).
- Envelope Amplitude.
- Envelope Invert.
- Envelope Trigger.
- Note Trigger.
- Note Hold.
2 - Table Preset Morphing is driven from a step sequencer with:
- Adjustable play range (Start/End).
- Range Reset.
- Drag Range.
- Run Modes:
* One shot: Trigs the sequence once.
* Cycle : Runs the sequence in loop mode.
* MIDI IN NOTE (runs it with note ON and stops it with note OFF).
- Restart: allows you to re-trig the table via MIDI IN Note messages .
- Rate: Sets the speed of the table.
- Smooth: Determines the amount of smoothness applied to the controller output and morph modulation.
- MIDI CC: Enables/Disables (Alias) sending a control change (configurable from MIDI Settings window).
- Enable: Turns ON/OFF Moprh's modulation.
- Edit Table Window: it allows you to shape some useful waveforms for smooth preset transitions.
* LIN: Sets a Ramp Up.
* TRI: Sets a Ramp Up/Down.
* INV: Inverts the current table content.
* REV: Reverses the current table content.
* EXP: Applies an exponential function to the current table content.
* SQR: Applies the square root to current table content.
Next three functions only works inside of the range selected.
* Minus Symbol: current table content increment.
* Plus Symbol: current table content decrease.
* RND: Randomizes the current table content.
TEMPLATE MIDI SETUP:
To work with this the template you need Lemur Daemon running in your computer, sure you're familiarized with that at this point, but if you don't, please check this good Liine video tutorials:
How to use Wi-Fi MIDI with a Mac. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g69iVWxJ ... ature=plcp

SENDING MIDI NOTES TO iPAD
Additionally the new module "Morph Table Modulator" can to receive MIDI Note information to re-start/run the modulator, here a simple example with a screenshot attached, my midi Keyboard "USB Keystation 49e" is connected to my computer via USB, so I am using directly the out port that goes to Lemur IN, so as soon I press any key it trigs the sound and the modulator at the same time while parameters morphs. Also you could to use any MIDI track in your daw to send the notes.
If you still have any question about of the template, please feel free to ask.

Re: Controlab MIDI Template
thanks a lot. your interface design is on top!
Re: Controlab MIDI Template
Antonio,
Your design is a thing of beauty! The code and the interface. I found your Abreakpoint1_0_1 template code to make many hours of reading and learning for my own code dev. Elegant code, man!
[edit: sorry never mind about alias question, i got it!]
Thanks for this!

Thank you MBM, great you enjoy it
I am working on a user guide for it (spanish) if somebody don't mind to use google translator (I do sometimes ) it's available here:
