Lemur Daemon doesn't recall my midi connection

Post by elephantefeet_lemur »

Hi,

I have been using Lemur on Android for many years. Due to the recent changes and updates, I was required to switch from Android to iOS in order to continue using Lemur.

Unfortunately, in version 5.7 the Lemur Daemon does not remember or recall my MIDI connections after reboot. This means I have to manually recreate the MIDI connections every time I launch the app, which makes it impractical to use in my workflow.

Because of this issue, I had to cancel my subscription, as the app is currently not usable for me.

Would someone here know how to resolve this...

Also there is no way to contact the owners - once I submit my message in the contact page, it tells me there is an error every time from my pc and phone...

Thank you for your time and assistance.

Thanks for taking the time to report this, and sorry for the frustration you’ve run into.

First, regarding support contact: we are currently receiving support emails without issue. If the contact form is returning an error, it would be helpful to know which browser and platform you’re using so we can reproduce and fix that.

On the MIDI connection issue, the Lemur Daemon itself does not save or restore MIDI connections. On iOS, it is the Lemur app that stores and recalls its connection state when the device comes back online. The daemon simply runs in the background to facilitate communication and does not manage persistence.

For this reason, MIDI connections should be created directly within the Lemur app on the iOS device. Connections made externally via the macOS or Windows Lemur Daemon are not guaranteed to be restored after a reboot or relaunch, since they are not part of the app’s saved state.

This is mentioned as a general best-practice here:

If you’re still seeing connections fail to restore after creating them directly in the Lemur app, please let us know the iOS version, device model, and the MIDI apps or hardware involved.

Cheers
