I use Lemur occasionally on older iPads, and still create new templates for new instruments and devices. Even remote panels based on key commands for graphics software.
I think MIDI Kinetics would get more income when they lowered the annual price to $30, and the monthly price to $3. This would be much more attractive for old users, as well as for new users. It would generate much more income for the company. With $100 per year, only professional artists and few enthusiasts will be years long customers I think. I am not a professional artist, and cannot justify $100 per year for something I already have. The 5.7 update is great, and I’m glad Lemur has a new owner. On the other hand, one must also mention that TouchOSC has been updated as well. My recent template for an Eurorack module was made with TouchOSC, not with Lemur. It is just a simple template without scripts, but its layout was finished rather quickly, faster than a Lemur template.
What do you think?
$30 per year

Formant+Eurorack, PPG wave 2.2, Korg MS-20, etc., EWI 4000s, QuNeo, etc., Mixbus32c, u-he, MadronaLabs, Samplemodeling, NI, etc., iPad2/4/Pro
Re: $30 per year
Agreed, it’s crazy . The change log on github suggests the changes are minimal at best, that doesn't bode well for so called future development
They will go down the same plughole as liine.
I was expecting $30 ish one off payment . For a vastly improved app.

Re: $30 per year
Lemur was and is great, and for me, better than touchOSC. There are features (physics, range slider) which I love but some of the more sophisticated things (Canvas) are simply beyond my needs. While I understand the subscription model and would really like to support the new company, I still have old iPads (as old as 2012) that run the old version so I just don't need to subscribe to the new one, and $100 is too much to spend as a good will gesture. I could get yet another reconditioned 2017 iPad for that. I will have to think seriously about it if/when I do need a new version as I don't make much from performing. I wonder how many others are in the same position - I don't know, but guess that a big chunk of the market for the new version is existing users. I wonder how many new users will be tempted at that price. As I've said elsewhere, my students certainly won't be queuing up.
Re: $30 per year
As a long-time (hobby) user of the Lemur app (and MIDI Kinetics templates), I was looking forward to the rerelease of the app. I had read that repurchasing would be required, which makes sense. When the app was finally released, I saw that it was subscription only, which I don’t like as a model from a user point-of-view, but I can see how it benefits developers, but $100 a year??? This clearly only targets professionals. Since I don’t just need the app for a short-term project, I have to think in the long run, which means I would end up spending $1,000 over the next ten years on the app, which is a non-starter. I can only hope that the price policy will be reconsidered after seeing that very few people jump onto the wagon. If the annual fee were $20, you would only need 5 times as many customers, which, in my opinion, shouldn’t be a problem to achieve, as way more people should be willing to spend this amount, and still make the same revenue…
It would be good to know what we would be spending our money on. Is the plan to maintain the current functionality of the app, i.e., fix bugs and keep it running, when new iOS versions break it? Are there plans for new functionality? Anything specific that is planned for the near future?

Re: $30 per year
I’m pretty gutted by this Revelation.
Unfortunately my copy of lemur is on an iPad with a cracked screen. Since Midikinetics bought lemur it was unavailable on App Store so couldn’t install on newer iPad.
Perhaps they could make the old version available to existing customer to install on a new iPad.
I can justify spending so much on app that I’ll never own.

Wow, yeah, this is a major bummer.
I wanted to get Lemur again, but a subscription model that requires renewal just to use the app is a show stopper. At the very least, it should be the same model as Bitwig, where the license is yours to use indefinitely and you get version updates for a year, renewing is optional, and bug-fixes are lifetime, regardless of renewal. But, I would prefer a lifetime license option.
