still unable to connect to Lemur Daemon on mac
There seems to be a few posts about this but no concrete answers!
Running 10.6.8 on Macbook Pro and IOS 5.0.1 on iPad2
In the Daemon the Lemur app/ipad does not show up
On the ipad Lemur settings I can only choose 'session 1' as a midi port?
I can connect to the iPad in the Lemur editor so I know the ad-hoc connection is ok?
I went through these steps
- turned off bluetooth
- created ad-hoc network on Macbook and connected iPad to it
- ran Lemur editor and Lemur Daemon on Macbook
- opened Lemur app on iPad and went to settings
- started to get stressed after 15th attempt, this is a £35 app, I hope there is some support on it's way!!
cheers

I seem to having the same problem. I can create the ad-hoc network and connect to it via ipad but when I launch the lemur daemon and then the ipad the ipad is never recognised.
The only difference I can see from the help video is that the wireless channel is automatically selected in the video and you have to select one under OSX Lion
Any ideas what the problem might be? Can anyone connect using Lion OSX and ios 5.01?

OK I realise the problem is an inaccurate video: the daemon does NOT detect the ipad and display ports as shown. You have to add the ports from the menu and the connection is possible.blackapple wrote:I seem to having the same problem. Any chance you could save us all some time and post accurate help videos/documentation guys..? Whilst I appreciate this is *very* cheap compared to a hardware lemur it is also a *very* expensive iPad app. Hopefully you won't get caught by bad ratings from a great product with a few poor docs ...!? That would be snatching defeat from the jaws of success.

Hi Blackapple...
Same problem here...
Can you give instructions on adding the ports manually.
i.e. Deamon Midi In/Out
and Lemur Ipad Settings

Hi guys,
Have you tried configuring the ports from the Lemur app's Settings screen?
Best,
Nick

can you please listen to the customers saying that the video is confusing and they waste their time?
Yes, we can configure the ports from the settings screen. But there are differences between the two methods apparently.
So, please make an effort to improve this product/documentation.
Warm regards

I had trouble connecting until I started setting the iPad to airplane mode before connecting to the ad hoc network. I then configure the Lemur app on the iPad. That being said, I had trouble connecting today and had to re-start my Mac before I could successfully connect.

Hi Guys,
Wi-Fi networks can be a bit shady. I have had a case where the interference from a sound card was jamming the wireless signal. There is no particular reason why it would work at one time and not work at another, except something causing interference between the computer and the device.
Although wi-fi works most of the time for most users maybe for your particular case a wired connection would be best. I highly recommend iConnectMIDI. http://iconnectivity.com/iConnectMIDI-Overview
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
M.
