Re: Hexapad tuned for microtonal scales
So I did some quick research on "AutoHotKey." As far as I can tell, it is a Windows only program for key automation. Are you using it to send files from your PC to your iPad? That wouldn't help, since the limitation is at the receiving end of Lemur. Also, I want the scale information to be resident or at least loadable on the iPad without having a computer attached.

I don't use an ipad...
So what you need is get text strings(or pitchbend,or..) from a computer file into lemur?
What i read in the documentation it is possible to search textfiles and find strings in them.
The difficult thing on that is how to get it to lemur...
maybe something like this could be possible:
Find a programm that could send a pitchbend or whatever is need via midi (and receive it in lemur).
maybe ...
http://www.fourmilab.ch/webtools/midicsv/
http://www.bome.com/products/sendsx
or midiox..?
lets call the file: midisend.xxx (with doubleclick it sends the wanted midi messages)
With autohotkey you have to expand/modify/whatever the file and run (start it) in autohotkey.
The "whole" thing is started with a kbmouse event (send a shortcut to start the script in autohotkey).
and you receive your wanted midi message (pitchbend, sysex,,,,) on a defined midi port...

Re: Hexapad tuned for microtonal scales
Posting a slightly updated version 0_7b. Change log:
o Fixed octave numbers to match MIDI, -1 thru 9.
o Added variable baseOct which centers the “scale root note” for all N per octave scales. In other words, if you set baseOct to 3, then all notes pivot from 1.3 = C3 = MIDI 48. For 19 notes per octave, note 1.4 (one octave up) becomes 48 + 19 = MIDI 67, and 1.2 (one octave down) becomes 48 – 19 = 29.
o Use any value for baseNote to move the octave selection for the hexpad. The root will always be C from the selected octave. Provides predictability for your externally mapped microtonal scales.
o Prior version 0.70 always centered from "1.0."
(Posting as soon as the error "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached." goes away). PM me for the file.

Re: Hexapad tuned for microtonal scales
Version 0.80 is uploaded to the user library. Change log:
o Octave alignment setting allows the array to change from a simple row times column shape to one that auto-adjusts to keep fingering the same for every successive octave.
o Root octave and note variables allow setting the root note relative to MIDI notes. Set the microtonal root to any value.
o Notes per octave increased, up to 51.
o Range checking added to note display and MIDI out.
o Some octave color tweaks.

User Guide for Hexapad Microtonal version 0.80 is available. The pdf is too large (882KB) to post here, so use the following link:

Re: Hexapad tuned for microtonal scales
wow, I had a good session today with your Hexapad and Aalto using 19-tone just intonation. This variable Hexapad makes it much easier to explore non-12-tone scales, which I avoided until now. This template has opened the doors for me. Thank you very much, also for the iPhone version. Besides, easy to adapt to iPhone5 size with the radius parameter. And of course big thanks for the user guide.
Cool stuff!
