Template Mapping

Post by dt_lck »

Hello everyone,
I purchased Lemur some hours ago.I have installed lemur editor and deamon.I was also able to create some small templates and controll basic functions in ableton like filters etc.Now the problem is that i want to load specific templates to controll synths like operator and third party ones like Neuron vs. While i am able to load the templates on lemur it seems that the midi wont map at all on Abelton.Do i have to manually map midi even though i have the templates?
It seems that Ableton recieves midi from lemur(the indicators blink) but it wont modulate anything.
I am on Osx 10.6 and ableton live 9.Lemur runs on Android 4.4 ( I had no luck on Logic Pro 9 also)
Sorry If this is a stupid question, i am trying to figure out things for hours with no luck.
Thanks in advance , Chris

Hello there.... Since you are downloading user library templates, its up to the indvidual creator each time, what kind of mapping methodology he/she used (plug in native, or DAW native) and of course also up to them to provide instructions or midi mapping files, accompanying their creations - most templates might usually come with some added files to be used - thats what I would do, or provide clear instructions on how to map the whole thing.
All else said and done, you could I guess try to p.m. those who created those templates and ask for help.

On Ableton sometimes I have to mess around with the midi input settings in preferences. Sometimes I need remot to be checked in order to map, other times I need it unchecked. If your problem is ableton getting midi but not mapping play with those settings.

most likely if it's a MIDI without scripts being installed/accessed then you will have to map the whole thing.
And I could say a lot about releasing templates like that with tons of buttons and not mapped, but I won't because it's free. And everyone should share if they want to, and maybe some people actually will have the patience and desire to map the whole synth control for virtually every new set  .
