Help me understand Canvas

Hi guys,

I don't understand Canvas at all but from what I've seen they look really neat. However I don't even know where to start.

When I add a canvas in the Lemur editor, nothing happens. Can someone please let me know how I should go about working with Canvas?

probably the first thing that is important to understand canvas is to have the Addendum pdf opened while studying the tutorial modules. Change values in the scripts, and see what happens. This is a time consuming process. I remember it took me a while to understand the canvas_arc() function because there's an error in the // description inside the script, but eventually it made sense. A background in math and programming is an advantage of course.

They also say one should study html5 canvas examples from web search. Personally I have enough already with Lemur canvas. There are a couple of user templates to study as well.

Is there like a list of canvas people use for Lemur which are downloadable somewhere?

do you mean user templates? And do you have the tutorial modules and templates from Liine?

User templates are for example Padma, Mixbus, WEST//, Flappy Bird.

Besides, I also have no background in programming, but that doesn't mean I cannot use canvas, or Lemur in general. It's only more difficult to learn. For many things I must rely on help from the forum, and later can give some of this knowledge back to the community. Alone in the last month I learned many things, and was already able to help someone out today.

Also in user library, hit on the "canvas" style button and all currently available user created templates that use canvas will be displayed!
