When I lock a container it actually locks me out of being able to interact with the contained objects on the iPad; and only on the iPad, because I can still interact with container-locked objects in the Lemur Editor itself. More weirdness: this object "lock-out" only takes effect once when I re-upload the project to the iPad. In other words, if my Lemur Connection to the Editor is still active and I lock a container, the lock-out will only take effect once I terminate the connection and re-upload.
The way I understood container locks is that they only affect what's visible in the Editor Project list. They shouldn't actually lock you of the ability to interact with the contained objects.
From the manual:
In large Projects the Project panel can quickly become crowded with Objects, leading to a lack of
overview. In that case you may want to use the Container Object’s Lock feature. Just try it with our
RatherInteresting Container. Check the Lock flag in the Properties and you will see the MultiBall and
Switch Objects vanish from the list.
Steps to reproduce:
- Connect iPad to Lemur Editor for real-time editing.
- Create a Container.
- Put a pad inside the container.
- Lock the container.
- Terminate connection.
- Reconnect
- result: locked out of being able to press pad.
Lemur 5.2.1, iPad 2.
Locked Container Bug???
Re: Locked Container Bug???
Hi
Yes there is an issue there, it has cropped up previously in my work ...
I believe they have looked into it and done some work towards a fix but not nailed it
It's a pity because it is a potentially powerful tool in many situations ....
Unfortunately I don't think we can expect this fixed right away
For the moment we simply have to live with it and the exposed inner workings ...
Sorry
