radio buttons to send note off when not the active button?
I cannot work out how to set a selection of pads, buttons, fader with steps or menu to only arm one track in ableton live 9.
each one would arm the mapped track, and all others would be turned off.
I have the nord beat 2 app running as a step sequencer. and want to switch the arming between tracks, thus selecting different racks.

an advanced version would be instead of drum racks, it is selecting and arming tracks which each have a VST Synth on the track. The addition is to send a program change to select a patch on the synth at the same time as arming the track. (I would ideally like a specific patch (program change) rather than having it controlling and changing sequentially.)

Re: selection to arm ableton live 9 track.
so i find switches have a radio mode....
all I need is to get them to send note off for all the other switches when one is selected.
does anyone know how?
current behaviour is to press a switch once to send note on the press one of the other switches, and then the one you want to send a note off. which leaves the wrong one highlighted.
once a button is highlighted, and sent the note on... another tap does not send the midi data
trying to get then for selecting and setting only one armed track out of several tracks in Ableton Live.
I need several of these sets of radio buttons,(one for drum racks, other for vst synths) so setting ableton to arm exclusive will not work.

I changed the thread title to be more suitable

Re: radio buttons to send note off when not the active butto
Could you post the layout or object you're working with?
Yeah those arm buttons in ableton are a little tricky! Not the same as your run-of-the-mill on/off button, but definitely doable

Re: radio buttons to send note off when not the active butto
Hello guys....I think but Im not sure that the arm buttons of Ableton Live are unfortunately only "tied" to momentary buttons - that is, they only listen to 127s of CC or to note ons....
127 - button alternates state
0 - nothing happens
127 - alternates state
0 - nothing happens
and so on and so on.....
thus when you map "switches" to them....there is erratic behavior and poor bi-directional ffedback.
I know this is true for the solo-monitor cue buttons and it has always buffled me why Ableton chose to hard-code these buttons in such a way - long story short, you CANNOT have "switches" to work with the solo-buttons and have a reliable bi-directional feedback and I think the arm buttons work this way too.

Re: radio buttons to send note off when not the active butto
so, what is the solution then?
being able to switch between tracks, that use the same controls.

Re: radio buttons to send note off when not the active butto
To use "pads" instead of switches, but then you won't have any sort of "indication" on the iPad about what track is actually armed.

Re: radio buttons to send note off when not the active butto
maybe I could run things slightly differently, by having both drum rack tracks armed, but on different MIDI channels, then change the channel number to select.
not sure if it would be practical for live play though.
just trying to think of how to get this all to work.
