Toggle, Single Button No Tabs

Post by DJMAGNO »

My last big battle that I cannot seem to figure out is this:

In mixemergency you can switch between Side A, Side B, Middle, Safe & Actv as "channels" for the effects, sample player, etc. There isn't one of two other buttons that you can click to go left or right to scroll thru the channel choices that show the effect, text, etc. I looked at the code for the previous single button "Toggle" thru tabs that Softcore wrote for someone else, but I cannot seem to change it to accommodate only toggling between non tab items without left and right buttons in the software.

Is it possible to do this?

Thanks,
Magno!

Wanted to clarify that there are 5 channels that I am referring to that I would like to be able to toggle between in the Presets section for the FX, Samples, Images, etc.

Side A
Side B
Mid
Safe
Actv

Thanks,
Magno!

I actually don't know Mixemergency, but I'm guessing you mean something like this?

Thanks Corba, but that didn't seem to work either. When the software learns the midi control, I touch one "element" in Lemur and it learns all 5 channels. If you touch the "element" (i.e. pad, switch, etc) it only toggles between the first and last channel quickly by starting at the Side A to Actv then quickly reverts back to Side A. It does this by jumping to the last channel, NOT cycling thru the other channels to get to it.

Hmmmm...

Do the 5 buttons in Mixemergency all have a different cc or do they have the same cc but with different value's?
And you did only map the switches right, not the scroll pads.

A shame I don't own the program to test it myself

I believe same CC but with different values. I only mapped the switches, however I could only map one switch.

You have to understand it is absolutely NOT possible for us to know what each and every software expects-accepts as messages.

Unless you come up with a specific inquiry (example: I want 2 buttons or 1 button or 2 faders to send THAT message WHEN THAT happens) we cannot be of any help!

So, WHAT objects do you want and WHAT messages do you want them to send? Describing your software functionalities that these objects WILL control do not help when we do not have that software.

My apologies...

As for the objects and messages, I'm not always sure about which is best to use. I am a newbie in this Lemur world and you all have actually opened my eyes to objects that should be used over others. If I say I want to use a pad and you say a switch would be better, it would make more sense to me to follow your advice.

Perhaps I should have attached the previous button "script" to explain what I was going for along with a screenshot. My apologies again if I cannot accurately speak the language needed to convey what I am asking. Again thanks for all of the help community. It is GREATLY appreciated! I couldn't have done it without the help and knowledge of you all, especially you Softcore.
------
I have attached a screenshot to illustrate. The green line explains the issue I was having at one time with regard to having two buttons scroll thru 6 banks of presets. The red line illustrates the same issue except there aren't two arrows that allow for scrolling through "banks" or "channels".

Thanks,
Magno!

Im willing to bet that mapping a FADER to it, will solve all your problems. The "position" of the fader will select a different menu each time. Try it. If it works, then afterwards enable the "grid" option with 5 options (as many as the buttons down there) - possibly it will be even better.

Then, if you reaaally reaaally want to go creative, I have just the thing for you - just let me know if a FADER works as I expect above and let me know what CC you used and I'll post you a "creative" example.

BRING IT ON SOFTCORE!!!

I kind of wish it could be horizontally oriented instead of vertically.
