Certain Controller numbers not working

Post by gweston »

Hi..

I am trying to use a fader to send data using CC 17 and 18 and it does not work. I have no problem using CC 1 - 15 but it will not send on 16 and 17 . Many higher numbers work.

I am stumped.

Also maybe related. I am trying to send a simple control change message with a button, switch, pad anything. Nothing seems to work. The odd thing is they work once and then stop.

Is there some kind of reset required in a script?

Thanks

Are those CC scripted or plain mapping?

Its definitely a user error - I have been succesfully sending CC 2 - 127 on midi channels 1-5, 7, 9 for years.

If its a script, post it here so we troubleshoot - if its plain midi mapping, what are you trying to control? perhaps thats where the culprit is.

i have attached the file. the outer 2 faders work, the middle two do not. i have set up a midi monitor in cubase if i change the cc to a different number then they work but cc17 and 18 do not.

Weird, they should....Are you sure Cubase is not "reserving" those controllers for some other action? perhaps you have a second controller connected which uses them? Not sure what goes wrong to be sincere but at least on the Lemur side of things.....you are correct and they should work.

Thanks

I am at a loss I can draw CC17 in the key editor and it works but Lemur is not getting to the track. And nor is sending CC17 from Axiom. So it is getting filter somewhere. I can not find anything about Cubase reserving CC #s.

and 30 seconds later I got it.

"Track quick controls" was set to all midi input and it was using those CCs.

Not sure if that is a default setting because I have never used them.
