So I have an actual hardware Lemur that I bought at the end of 2010 from the final batch. I've been using it with Live 8.2.8 and Max 5.1.7 and Mu 1.1 since then and love it.
Now I want to upgrade to Ableton 9 64-bit and I have a dilemma... And I'm wide open to suggestions so long as they don't involve scrapping my Lemur hardware.
From what I understand there is the issue of the 64-bit Max SDK not being out yet and even the updated Mu here:
https://forum.ableton.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=191054
Is not only removed until further notice, but only for a 32-bit Max setup.
So my question is... Is there some combination of the following that will work so I can use my Lemur hardware with Ableton 9 64-bit:
-Max for Live 64 bit
-Max for Live 32 bit
-Mu (updated by the community somewhere?)
-LiveControl 2 (when it arrives)
I don't mind paying for software devices, but I have to know they're going to work with the original Lemur hardware and Live 9.
Thanks in advance!
Lemur Hardware and Ableton 9 Setup?

Hi commonmanthemes
The download is back up again. Follow this thread for any updates:
http://forum.liine.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=2977
Instead, if you just want the stock Mu 1.2 to work with Live 9 (without being ableton to access devices in chains, or autoselect devices), you only need this file here - "Mu.path.maxpat" http://forum.liine.net/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=3043 .
Regarding 32 vs 64 bit. I have written a blog post about this. http://www.xmonsta.com/blog/32-or-64-bi ... to-choose/
The best/most stable current set up for me, seems to be running a 64bit OS, with a 32bit DAW. There are just too many variables for me to move to 64bit DAW at the moment (64 bit max, 64 Bit Ableton, 64 Bit plugs), all of which are largely untested. And then after I've beta tested all their new 64 bit softwares, I'll only get negligable performance improvements anyway.
Mu 64 bit wont be coming out any time soon. A new object for LemurLoader would need to be created by Liine and they have already stated it's low on their list of priorities here http://forum.liine.net/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3117
Hope this helps.

Re: Lemur Hardware and Ableton 9 Setup?
Thank you very much for the help xmonsta. I am most of the way there.
Running 9.0.4 32-bit, Max 6.1.0 32-bit, and your Mu. Everything started communicating right away.
But then I realized the screen was too small for the image it was trying to display, like so.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 2546_o.jpg
And after some digging, found that I should load the custom interface jzml file. This fixed the main screen, but devices are still too large, like so:
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 5248_o.jpg
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/ ... 0040_o.jpg
Any thoughts?

Re: Lemur Hardware and Ableton 9 Setup?
Hey commonmanthemes,
Im afraid I havent got a legacy lemur to test it out on. It seems that the device container will need resizing. If you go into the lemur editor, you should see two device containers "deviceA" and "deviceB" . If you click on these, on the left hand side of lemur editor it should show you the size (mine is 800x600, which seems clearly too large for legacy), try to resize these containers to the correct size for lemur legacy. You might also have to resize "deviceAinfo" and "deviceAselect" and the B versions as well.
Failing this you might wanna have a chat to "soundmutant" who is a user here using legacy lemur, I believe he might have solved the same problem.
Would be great to know how you get on.
Cheers xmonsta
