Ad Hoc Connection without airport?

Post by mrbandito »

Hello, just purchased Lemur and am excited to use it, however I cannot figure out solution to get ad hoc connection working on my computer.

I am on a Mac Pro with OSX 10.7.5 that does not have an airport installed, therefore no airport icon option to choose as the instruction videos show. I have a USB dongle connected to the computer, and tried to created an ad hoc connection from Internet Sharing in system preferences, however my ipad is not finding this network so that is not working either.

Anyone have any idea how I might be able to connect? If I can't figure it out with ad hoc is it possible just to connect my ipad via bluetooth?

thanks much

I just figured out how to connect Lemur via Bluetooth.

- Pair iPad and Computer
- Launch MIDIBridge (or similar app) on iPad - connect Network in to MIDIBridge out and vice versa
- Go to Mac CoreMIDI setup, set network connection with iPad
- Lemur setting: FROM: MIDIBridge TO: MIDIBridge

And now your Lemur should be connected via Bluetooth. I was able to use LiveControl2 like this with very low latency!
