Better latency with better wifi receiver ?

Post by Wcl »

My desktop is connected to the outside world with a generic USB wifi receiver , will a better/more expensive receiver give me lower and more stable latency? Or will I just be able to move further away from my computer?

Thanks

In esssence it is better to create a separate ' ad hoc' network( computer to computer) for connecting the ipad and your computer. You could use two dongles on your pc without problem as described in one of the topics. One for internet acces, the other for ad hoc connection with ipad. The ipad won't have internet access, only a direct connection to your pc, your pc will still be able to access the internet on the other dongle.

Also you could use a 5 mtr max lengt usb cable to bring the ad hoc dongle closer to the ipad for a better signal.
